由中国金属学会主办,北京科技大学承办,首钢集团有限公司和北京金属学会协办,力拓支持的“第十届国际炼铁科技大会(ICSTI2025)”将于2025年8月25-29日在北京召开。
通知发出后受到了国际钢铁冶金领域同行们的广泛关注,截止目前,会议共收到来自世界15个国家及地区的400余篇文章,届时众多国际炼铁及低碳冶金领域的著名专家学者和大型钢铁企业负责人将出席本次会议,重点围绕最新科技进展和先进生产经验,交流炼铁、氢冶金、低碳冶金等方面近年来取得的技术成果和进展,探讨关键技术问题的解决途径和今后的发展方向。
本次会议工作语言为英语,将提供从英语到中文的同声翻译,将设大会特邀报告、分会场技术交流、展览展示、墙报交流等内容。

Tao Jiang, Central South University, China
Presentation Title: Innovation and Advances in the preparation of ironmaking burdens in China
Tao Jiang is a Full Professor in the School of Minerals Processing and Bioengineering at Central South University, and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), China. He received his M.S. degree in 1986 and Ph.D. degree in 1990, both from Central South University of Technology. Then he joined the university and served as an Assistant Professor (1990–1992) and Full Professor (1992–now). From 2000 to 2003, he was a Visiting Scientist in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Utah, USA.
Dr. Jiang has long been engaged in the research of minerals processing and extraction metallurgy. He led the efforts to develop a variety of key technologies for uniform-heat thick-bed sintering, pelletizing, and composite agglomeration of iron ores. He created a novel process of ferronickel-making based on solid-state reduction-magnetic separation. Moreover, he invented a composite binder for iron ore pelletizing and a method for preparing direct reduced iron by one-step high-temperature reduction. The research achievements have been applied in most iron and steel enterprises in China and other companies abroad, and have promoted the upgrading of China's production technologies of ironmaking burden, ferronickel, and direct reduced iron, with improvement of the availability of resources. Dr. Jiang won 3 China's State Science and Technology Awards and 8 first-class awards at the provincial and ministerial levels. He published 8 monographs and 400 papers and holds more than 100 Chinese patents. He also organized 12 international academic conferences and edited 9 international symposium proceeding

Jianliang Zhang, University of Science and Technology Beijing, China
Presentation Title: Progress and Innovations in the Chinese Ironmaking Industry
Prof. Dr. Jianliang Zhang is a full professor of metallurgical engineering at the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB). He is currently the honorary professor of the University of Queensland. Prof. Zhang was awarded the honors of Beijing Excellent Teacher, National Outstanding Scientist, and special allowance expert of the State Council. Prof. Zhang is the director of Division of Metallurgy, and dean of School of Metallurgical and Ecological Engineering of USTB. He serves as chairman of the Ironmaking Branch of the Chinese Society for Metals, secretary of the World Steel Development Research Institute, deputy leader of the National Hydrogen Metallurgy Standard Working Group, director of the Key Laboratory of Metallurgical Industry Safety Risk Prevention and Control Department, deputy director of the Collaborative Innovation Center of HBIS and USTB, deputy director of the Green Low Carbon and Comprehensive Utilization of Resource Laboratory of Jianlong Group and USTB, director of Green Manufacturing Institute of Baowu Group and USTB, and director of the Wei Shoukun Award Office of USTB.
Prof. Zhang has long been engaged in the research on theLow-carbon Ironmaking, Hydrogen Metallurgy, Optimization Control Technology of Ironmaking Orocess, Reaction Mechanism of Metallurgical Process, Direct Reduction Ironmaking, Comprehensive Utilization of Resources and Metallurgical Process Expert Systems. He has presided over more than 300 research projects including National Science and Technology Major Project. Prof. Zhang has maintained close contact with RWTH Aachen University, University of Toronto, University of Leoben, University of Queensland and University of Wollongong.
Prof. Zhang has won one second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and 37 provincial-level science and technology progress awards. He has obtained one national standard approval and one group standard approval. He has published over 1,000 papers and has been selected as "Highly Cited Researchers in China" by Elsevier in 2021 and 2022. He has been granted 76 patents and published 12 monographs.
Myoung Gyun Shin, POSCO, Korea
Presentation Title: Update on the development of POSCO’s hydrogen-based Ironmaking process, HyREX®
Dr. Myoung-Gyun Shin received his Ph.D. in chemical metallurgy from Seoul National University in 1994.
He has been involved in the development and commercialization of the FINEX process at POSCO since 2001.
He has led various R&D projects to enhance the FINEX process and, from 2021 to 2022, headed the low carbon process research group at POSLAB, developing the HyREX Process.
Since 2023, he has been the head of the Low Carbon Iron and Steel Making R&D center at POSCO, overseeing low-carbon iron and steelmaking technologies.
Gele Qing :Shougang Research Institute of Technology
Presentation Title:Practice and Prospect of Carbon Reduction in Shougang Long Process Steel Production
Gele Qing:Ph.D., Shougang Scientist, Chief Technical Expert of Shougang Research Institute of Technology, leader of Low Carbon New Technology R&D Team, Vice Deputy Director of Carbon Neutrality Branch of China Metal Association.
Gele Qing has long been engaged in the research and development of low-carbon and green technologies for ironmaking. She has made important contributions to the advancement of pelletizing and ironmaking processes, developed high-quality and multifunctional iron ore pellet and realized low-carbon operation of 5500m3 large blast furnace with over 55% of iron ore pellet. She has carried out many research work on reduction of energy consumption and pollutant emissions in ironmaking system, and received many technology awards and honors. At present, Gele Qing is leading a low-carbon new technology research and development team to carry out deep decarbonization technologies such as steel long process carbon reduction, hydrogen metallurgy, carbon dioxide capture and resource utilization.
Pontus Sjöberg, CEO, Swerim AB, Sweden
Presentation Title: The Green Transition of the steel industry in Sweden – state of the art
Dr. Pontus Sjöberg is currently the CEO of the Swedish research institute Swerim AB which covers research for the whole value chain for metals from mining to final product including the understanding of the correlation between material structure and material properties throughout the value chain. Pontus took his PhD in stainless steelmaking at the Department of Process Metallurgy at Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden. After this Pontus spent one year as post doc at the Institute of Advance Material Processing, Sendai, Japan. At the end of his employment at KTH, Pontus was acting professor for one year at the Department of Process Metallurgy. Pontus has worked as a technical secretary in metallurgy at the Swedish Iron Masters Association (Jernkontoret), which included coordination of steel research between industry, research institutes and universities in the Nordic countries. Pontus has been production director at “Primary Products at Alleima AB, where he was responsible for the steelmaking, hot rolling and finishing parts in Sandviken, Sweden. Thereafter Pontus was production director for slabs production at SSAB in Oxelösund where he was responsible for coke making, blast furnaces and steel shop. Before taking his position as CEO of Swerim, Pontus was production director at Vitkovice Steel in Ostrava, Czech Republic which included a steel shop, a heavy plate rolling mill, a rolling mill for sheet piles and finishing facilities.
Daihua Zhang, Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., China
Presentation title: Exploration of Green and Intelligent Technologies in Ironmaking at Baosteel
Position: Director of the Ironmaking Department of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., Party Committee Secretary and Plant Manager of the Ironmaking Plant at the Headquarters.
Zhang Daihua began his career in 1999 and holds a master's degree and the title of Senior Engineer. He has long been dedicated to the frontline of ironmaking production at Baosteel, having served in various roles including Deputy Project Manager, Assistant Plant Manager, and Deputy Plant Manager at the Ironmaking Plant of Baosteel's headquarters. Currently, he is the Director of the Ironmaking Department of Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., as well as the Party Committee Secretary and Plant Manager of the Ironmaking Plant at the headquarters.
Throughout his career, Zhang Daihua has been recognized with numerous honors, including being named one of the Top Ten Outstanding Youths of the Baosteel Group and receiving the Zeng Le Innovation Award. He has also been awarded the Metallurgical Science and Technology Prize and the Baowu Major Technological Innovation Achievement Award multiple times.
Dennis D. Lu, ArcelorMittal Global R&D at East Chicago, USA and at R&D Software Factory, France
Presentation Title: Innovation and Technological Transformation in Ironmaking at ArcelorMittal
Dennis Lu was born and raised in China. He received his B. Sc. degree in Ironmaking and Steelmaking at Northeast University. Dennis obtained his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering at McMaster University in 1992. Upon his graduation, Dennis, working with others, developed and marketed software for operating and cost analysis for ironmaking to most of blast furnaces in U.S. and Canada. He joined Hoogovens (Daniels-Corus) as a process engineer to provide technical services and engineering studies for North American ironmaking industry. From 1999 to 2004, Dennis joined USS/Kobe Steel as a process technology and quality assurance manager overseeing the primary operations. Under Dennis’ leadership, non-leaded steel was invented for free-machining steel. In 2004 to 2007, Dennis became a plant consultant III of blast furnace engineering and technology at USS, Gary Works. In 2007, Dennis joined as a process engineer of ironmaking at the former AM IH plant. Dennis joined AM Global R&D East Chicago (RDEC) as a senior research engineer in 2009, became a lead research engineer in 2015 and was promoted to Scientist in 2023, providing technical support and developing and deploying R&D solutions for the ironmaking communities in AM. In 2020, Dennis joined AM Global R&D Software Factory (RDSF) taking the lead in improving and deploying our BF Sachem® expert system. Recently, he was also mandated to participate in the design of our new DRI Ecosystem.
Dennis has developed over the past few years a dual skill both in Modelling our processes by developing and improving models and making them available on our industrial platforms, and in Digitalization by having a good understanding of our global on-premises architectures and cloud, and by testing and applying new ML and AI algorithms for signal prediction and product classification.
Aibing Yu, JITRI Institute for Process Modelling and Control / Great Bay University, China
Presentation Title: Blast Furnace Modelling and Application: How to Optimise Design and Control for Best Energy Efficiency
Professor Aibing Yu specialized in process metallurgy, obtaining BEng in 1982 and MEng in 1985 from Northeastern University, China, PhD in 1990 from University of Wollongong and DSc in 2007 from the University of New South Wales, Australia. After over 35 years as an academic with the University of New South Wales (1992-2014) and Monash University (2014-2015), he is currently Distinguished Professor and Director of Smart Process Engineering, Great Bay University (2015-), and Director of JITRI Research Institute of Process Modelling and Control (2016-). He is a world-leading scientist in particle/powder technology and process engineering. He has authored/co-authored >1,300 publications (including >900 collected in the ISI Web of Science), delivered many invited plenary/keynote presentations at various international conferences, and graduated >50 postdoc fellows and >150 PhD students. He is Executive Editor of Powder Technology, Regional Editor of Granular Matter, and on the editorial board of ~20 learned journals. He is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards and fellowships. He was elected to Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering in 2004, and Australian Academy of Science in 2011, and Foreign Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2017.
