About the Symposium

“2009 International Symposium on Thin Slab Casting and Rolling” (TSCR 2009) will be organized by Chinese Academy of Engineering and The Chinese Society for Metals in Nanjing, China on May 13-15, 2009.

International Symposia on Thin Slab Casting and Rolling were successfully held in 2002 and in 2006 (in China). Since the year of 2006, China has ranked the first in the world steel either in production capacity or output for thin slab casting and rolling (TSCR). Regarding to the areas of productivity enhancement, quality improvement, and steel grades expansion, Chinese steel industry also makes great progresses for the TSCR Process.

The aim of TSCR 2009 is to continuously provide a forum for discussion and exchange of operational experiences on high productivity, seeking for the advantages of TSCR process, and putting forward the proposal on TSCR development. Experts with the namable experiences or researches will also be invited to delivery lectures in TSCR 2009.
