About the Conference

The  Chinese  Society  for  Metals  is  pleased  to announce that the 4th International Conference on Continuous Casting of Steel in Developing Countries  (CCC’08)  will  be  held  on  Nov 4-7, 2008 in Beijing, China.

The  4th  International  Conference  on  Continuous Casting of  Steel  in Developing  Countries  is  the  continuation  of  preceding  conferences successfully held in 1993 (in Beijing), in 1997 (in Wuhan) and in 2004 (in Beijing) respectively.  CCC’08  will offer again an attractive programme for companies, universities, institutes and users to share the knowledge, experiences  and  discussion  of  the  new  developments  in continuous casting of steel.

Since 1996,  China has sustained its position as the world largest steel producer for 10 consecutive years. In 2007, Chinese crude steel output reached to 489 million tons, accounted for around one third of the world total.  The  continuous  casting  ratio  in  steel  production  increased  to 96.95%.  Apparently,  China  steel  industry  has  made  remarkable progresses  by  implementations  of the strategy which concentrates on CC  development  to  drive  the  growth  of  other fields in Chinese steel industry.

With  the  development  of  the  world  steel  industry,  it  is  of  the  great
interest  to  review  the  achievements  in  technology  developments  of continuous  casting,   discuss  the  optimization  of  CC  production processes,  and  put  forward  the proposals for CC upgrading to adapt
the  exploitations  of  new  steel materials. The latest development of the state-of-the  art  technology  for  more  competitive products with good-quality,  high-efficiency,  and  low-cost  will  also be involved in CCC’08.

CCC’08  organizers  sincerely  expects  you  to participate in this great event. Your kindly contributions to CCC’08 will greatly help to make the conference a success.
