《金属学报(英文版)》《Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)》创刊于1988年，是由中国金属学会主办、中国科学院金属研究所承办的直接刊登冶金科技和材料科学与工程领域英文原始论文的期刊。以稳定质量、不断提高办刊水平、提高刊物的影响力、为国家科技发展和经济发展做出贡献为办刊宗旨，以短、快、新为特色，接受和发表国内外直接英文来稿。先后被EI, CA, MA, SA等国际著名检索系统收录。2001 年入选国家期刊方阵“双百期刊” , 2004年起由英国Maney出版公司代理国外发行，2006年起与荷兰Elsevier出版集团合作。

ACTA METALLURGICA SINICA (English Letters) is an international journal for the bimonthly publication of original articles. It mainly contains short reports of significant, original and timely research which reflect new progress in metallurgy, materials science and engineering, including materials physics, physical metallurgy, and process metallurgy covering the fields of mining and ore dressing, production metallurgy, foundry, metal working, testing methods, powder metallurgy, composites, welding and joining, oxidation and corrosion. Articles must appeal to an international audience.
