《Iron and Steel》

Established in 1954 and sponsored by Chinese Society for Metals, Iron and Steel is one of the leading magazines to comprehensively reflect the scientific and technological achievements in the metallurgy industry of China published publicly both in China and overseas. It aims at, along with the production reality, serving the production and construction of metallurgical industry of China by means of reporting the metallurgical

achievements, technological progress of production, improvement and increase of breed quality, development and application of new technology and new products, business and managerial experience of corporation and application of technical theory and so on so as to increase the technological level of the workers and cadres in metallurgy field.

The majority of the readers are largely the scientific research personnel, professors, managers and other technical personnel respectively engaged in Iron and Steel production management engineering and design, scientific research, university teaching and end users of Iron and Steel products.

The editorial board is constitute of fifty-three scholars and entrepreneurs, among whom three are academicians of the Chinese Academy of Science and/or the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Mr. Weng Yu-qing, editor in chief, is the chairperson of CSM.

Iron and Steel publishes monthly with 16 mo and 88 pages. The columns of the magazine mainly include: raw material, such as sintering, pellet and coke, ironmaking, steelmaking, pressure processing, Iron and Steel material, hot working and energy, all which makes up 80% of the whole articles. The rest includes ferroalloys, refractory material, instrumental technology, environment technology and also economy management, summary, introduction of metallurgy factories and personnel and news of conference and technology. Papers written by metallurgical company and institutes and colleges cooperatively will be given priority to publish.

With over five-decade-effort, Iron and Steel has become one of the most influential technical journals in Chinese metallurgy industry. It has been covered and indexed by a great number of famous index magazines and databases such as EI, CA, Current Bulletin on Science Technology (Japan), Abstract Journal (Russia), and China Journal Net, Chinese Science Citation Database, and China Academic Journal Colligation Estimated Database, etc.
